Heritage

Park

The park is both a listed monument and, in spite of its size, a National Nature Reserve. Planted in the 19th century, it includes many fine and rare specimen trees including Gingkos, Pyramid Oak, Tulip Tree, Red Oak etc. Left to overgrow during the communist era, the park has been restored with scrub and forest trees removed, the original vista towards the Carpathian Mountains opened out and many new specimen trees planted. It is being recolonised by wild flowers and teems with birds.
