Văleni is situated in rolling countryside that is principally arable interspersed with forest. The landscape is very open with long views in every direction including the Carpathian Mountains. The river Moldova runs alongside the estate. Strip farming still exists but is gradually giving way to larger cultivated fields. Some ploughing with horses still exists. Cows graze on common land and flocks of sheep roam widely. There is no industry although stone is extracted from the river bed. Roads are increasingly being asphalted though a few remain unsurfaced.
