I’ve arrived at, quite frankly, the garden of Eden. It’s an amazing place.

The first thing that struck us on arriving was the heavenly quiet. Anyone more accustomed to urban life and the roar of traffic, air conditioning systems, etc. will, like us, bathe in the soothing sounds of nature here, only rarely interrupted by one of a handful of cars that pass each day. Instead one hears bells, crowing cocks or the barking of the village dogs, the sound of wind rustling the leaves. At night the silence can ring in your ears. The clear sky is laden with stars and the Milky Way.

We dream of the peace and beauty of Văleni.
